This engineering masterpiece was built at the beginning of the last century, in 1905, as part of the famous Bohinj Railway line connecting Gorica with Jesenice. 1,960 m3 of stone in the form of 4,533 carved stone blocks were used for its construction. Rail traffic on the new line between Vienna and the port of Trieste began in 1906.
