Here's another little highlight on the Sophienhöhen. Year of construction 2020/21
With a beautiful view and a long bench to rest on.
Children can run around on the sand hill.

Beautiful viewpoint with strong color contrast, depending on the light.
The cone, at the front left, is accessible. Really good panoramic view there.

April 28, 2026,MTB > Sophienhöhe bei Elsdorf 🤪
Start from Oberemb and arrival by car. Overall very nice, but mostly impassable paths😳 with a lot of ups and downs. This makes the tour difficult. Nevertheless recommended👍. Good, reliable navigation is absolutely essential, otherwise you will be driving there for quite a long time 😉

The suggestion for the tour came from Komoot, a so-called smart tour. Allegedly almost 1200 HM, in the end it was 650 😜

Showing Translation

Perfect tour. Driven exactly between 2 rain phases. Partially very slippery on the sand on the descents. According to Komoot, the tour should have 1200 meters of altitude 😁

Showing Translation

There are 2 or 3 push sections, but they are not too long

Finally out again and weather even played along. Nice varied MTB tour with a lot of gravel to the mountain down full throttle 😎 unfortunately some passages in the forest are not passable because they are so overgrown. Again and again the problem that the forests in Germany are very poorly cared for and overgrown, I don't even know from …

Showing Translation

At the beginning there is again a mistake in the altitude profile.

Does anyone else have that or is it because of my old junk cell phone?

Showing Translation

Going out in light rain with little motivation. But after the climb to the Sophienhöhe it was better. Nice mud today

Showing Translation

I have deliberately marked this as a MTB tour, as cycling on the Sophienhöhe on the gravel paths is quite challenging when it is dry!
