Olivenhain Meeting Hall

Highlight • Historical Site

This area was settled by a German colony in the 1890s. The name Olivenhain means "olive grove". The wood frame building was constructed from 1894 to 1895 by the settlers of Olivenhain. It is used today for community functions such as the annual Oktoberfest, Haunted House, summer movie series, craft fairs and a variety of civic group meetings. Almost every important event in the community's history took place in the hall, and one author called the building "the nerve center of Olivenhain".

The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 17, 1993.
