I fell in love with the elevation profile 😍😅.

So today we set off in good weather, heading from Kochel am See up to Walchensee. I recommend taking the quiet road here. Forest trails are also possible, but you should be able to handle your bike well on some very steep gravel paths. For the descent, we preferred the road …

Arrival by train directly to Kochel am See.
Starting from the train station (ends there) past the Kochelsee and after 3 km there are many switchbacks about 550m up and then 150 down again to the Walchensee.
The tour around the Walchensee is very beautiful and is mostly in the shade, ideal for cooling off a bit in the heat. …

Very nice tour around the Walchensee! However, the route through the forest is at least S2-S3!! That's why we switched to the road!

After we had managed the ordeal of the old Kesselweg followed the wonderful part of this tour, the tour around the Walchensee, with its wonderful turquoise water, countless small bays and places that invite you to linger, just fantastically beautiful.

A fantastically beautiful tour! There's so much to see that you don't even want to drive fast, and one break follows another. First a short stretch of the B11, then the transition to the smooth toll road (bikes allowed), then easy-to-ride gravel, a slightly larger hill, and then you're back on the B11, where at 5 p.m., only four cars …

Very nice route along the lake, but a brief climb in the forest followed by a descent on a gravel surface. The last few kilometers along the B11 with a lot of traffic during the day. We drove in the evening when it was still ok

Parking is free above the Einsiedl night parking lot (just around the bend). Otherwise, a day ticket costs €5. This allows you to swim for free in many places on the lake.

Showing Translation

The loop around the beautiful lake is about 26km long. Mostly with asphalt, but a good 30% are easy to drive gravel roads. However, there is also a small section that is quite steep. Otherwise, the lake tour rewards you with great views of the turquoise blue water. Plenty of seating available. We started from the night parking lot.
