Tannegger Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

The Tannegger Wasserfall is probably the most famous cascade of the Wutachschlucht. Over 15 meters deep, the water falls over mossy limestone walls that are bizarrely shaped and still growing.

Rock Gallery (Wutach Gorge)

Highlight (Segment) • Gorge

Walk along bizarre rock formations on this beautiful stretch, listen to the raging Wutach and enjoy the unique scenery. The gorge is especially beautiful in autumn when the leaves of the trees turn white.

Old Rümmele Footbridge

Highlight • Bridge

Karl Rümmele was a railway construction engineer at the Baden State Railways. It was he who set the idea for a continuous walk through the Wutachschlucht with webs rolling. A special feature was the construction of the bridges as suspension bridges. They were anchored one-sidedly in the rock while resting on the other side on a stone pillar. If now the pillar would be destroyed by flood, the bridge still hangs freely at the rock.

The Wutach River

Highlight • River

It's a great hiking trail... but be careful...it often goes down steeply and watch where you step

On your way through the Wutachschlucht you will pass numerous waterfalls. The water cuts its way through rock crevices and splashing over shell limestone walls and mossy edges.

It was a great hike, the sun was missing 🌞 a bit, but the nature rewarded my eyes!

Today I went to the Wutach Gorge with my dear Chris. The plan was to walk from the Wutach Mill up to the source of the Wutach, where the Haslach and Gutach rivers join. Since 23 km was a bit too much for me, I parked at the Schattenmühle and took the hiking bus to Bachheim. Unfortunately, the hiking bus …

Beautiful gorge, spectacular if it brings a lot of water, a narrow path accompanies you almost the entire way, spectacular although there were many landslides and the route changes. I opted this time to get to the Schattenmuehle mill where one can refresh, before the climb via the Lotenbachklamm gorge (you take it from the car park up - nice …
