a very spectacular gravel / mtb variant that allows you to avoid the dark tunnel. Here in 1954 18 Alpini lost their lives by falling from the cliff with the military vehicle on which they were traveling: care must be taken even by bike!

Pezzo Mountain Village

Highlight • Settlement

Pezzo is a beautifully situated village on the descent from the Gavia Pass to Ponte di Legno. The location on the hillside gives you a nice view of the Adamello Group almost everywhere in town. It is strategically located on the Albrecht Route, the next day the Montozzo Scharte or alternatively the Passo Tonale (from Pezzo you can almost go straight to Tonale Street and thus saves altitude, otherwise you from Ponte the Legno would like to defeat). For an overnight stay is recommended Da Giusy (see also the tip of Thorsten).

Gavia Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

A famous Alpine climb, the Gavia pass was climbed for the first time since the Giro d'Italia in 1960. The first to reach the summit was Imerio Massignan, who during that stage, the twentieth, from Trento to Bormio, attacked the pink jersey Jacques Anquetil. Massignan, however, was very unlucky and on the descent towards Bormio he punctured four times, however earning the nickname "angel of Gavia", as described in the splendid novel "Imerio" by Marco Ballestracci. The Gavia was last ridden by the Corsa Rosa in 2014. As well as being one of the historic climbs of the Giro and of road cycling, the Gavia is the perfect starting point for some of the best off-road trails you'll ever come across. Do.
