Capo Miseno Trail – Bird Sanctuary

Everyone will wonder why it is called the “Birds’ Path”? The name is due to a rich and documented presence of different species of bird fauna, protected by the Campi Flegrei Regional Park Authority and the municipal administration of Bacoli. And then because there is a large presence of seagulls that nest and that after having fluttered over the sea, hunting for fish, return to their nests.

A particular characteristic of this path is, also, the sudden transition from a Mediterranean vegetative area to a more wooded area. These are the types of plants that can be encountered: bougainvillea, broom, downy oaks, wild olive trees, holm oaks, mastic trees, euphorbia, oregano, Venus’ navel, wild leek, butcher’s broom, sarsaparilla, wallflower and asphodel.
