Highlight • Natural

An experience to hike through the moorland with the Alps in the background.

The foundations are currently being renovated and the bridge over the ditch to the platform presumably too. However, you can still climb onto the platform if you are careful. From there you have a great view of the Kendlmühlfilzen high moor.
On the path in front of the platform, you can still see remnants of the peat railway tracks.

Even in winter, the hiking trail is mostly easy to walk on. During the week you are mostly alone and can enjoy the silence.

October 4, 2021,Moorrundweg - Wasserfall - Panoramaweg
Panoramaweg doesn't quite hit it: most of the time you can only see trees on this section. All in all, a nice round, inspired by "genial vital".

Now I'm a professional🕺Schuhplattler thanks to the🦟🦟🦟😁.

I would have sooo loved to stand under the Rottau waterfall 🚿. But the last few meters there were a bit too risky for me. Maybe next time

Near Grassau lies one of Bavaria's largest raised bogs, the Kendlmühlfilzen. On this tour, we combined the moorland circular trail with observation tower, a visit to Grassau (with various refreshment stops), the panoramic trail, a waterfall, the "Salt and Moor" museum (€4 entrance fee, well worth a visit, allow about 1-1.5 hours, nice little café), and the moorland adventure trail.

A very nice circular route through the moor near Grassau. In front the Chiemsee, in the back the Kampenwand, Hochgern, Predigtstein ..... and wherever else you could go up.
On the way you can visit the observation tower and a museum, you only need a short detour to the waterfall, and on the panorama path - which unfortunately does not …

We follow the well-signposted moor path from Grassau, but with a worthwhile detour. From the church you can quickly get to the Kendlmühlfilzen, one of the largest raised bogs in Bavaria. The moor adventure path is sure to be a nice pastime for children.

Along brine and impact water pipes down to the felts. I didn't need any salt but a little powdered sugar for the apple strudel wouldn't have been bad.🤔
