Watching the traffic jam on the motorway from this cycle path is one of the great pleasures in the life of a fringe athlete

Route 232 - Radrast Giggelberg

Highlight • Cycleway

Shortly after the Brenner Pass, the cycle path joins the old Brenner railway line. After a few kilometers, you'll come to Route 232 - Giggelberg Cycle Rest Stop. This is an ideal place to refill your water bottles and enjoy your first espresso in Italy.

Tip for those in a hurry/long-distance cyclists: Stay on/near the main road until Vipiteno. Saves time and a few kilometers.

Tunnel on the old railway line

Highlight • Cycleway

Wonderful route on the former railway line. The tunnel leads through a rock and is illuminated.

Brenner Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

Honestly, this place is not very nice. The appearance of the small community is dominated by the Brenner motorway and an ugly outlet center. As a milestone, it is still important. From now on it goes downhill for a long time!

Brenner Pass border

Highlight • Mountain Pass

Although it's really not nice up on the Brenner Pass, it's a good feeling when you're up there and still have the descent to Sterzing on the old railway line ahead of you.

I found this tour particularly beautiful, especially with the e-bike that you could rent from our hotel. You were really fast with that, sometimes up to 40 km/k. The paths could perhaps be expanded or made wider, because in some places it is really dangerous. With the e-bike you drove almost 30 km in 2 hours.
