Pont-l'Abbé inhabited bridge

Highlight • Settlement

Located at the bottom of the estuary and at the crossroads of several roads, the bridge was built by the lords of the castle around the 12th century. It quickly became an obligatory passage for pilgrims, travelers and merchants.
The bridge is actually a water reservoir. The buildings of the building house apartments, a biscuit factory and the Le Minor house.

Île-Tudy

Highlight • Settlement

Picturesque village at the head of l'Ile Tudy. Very touristy in summer, but there are a few nice cafes at the top to take a break. The view over to Loctudy is also not to be despised. If you want to use the shuttle ferry between the two places, you should find out about the opening times beforehand, otherwise the only option is the long route around the bay.

Kermor Dyke

Highlight • Other

A scenic alternative to the bike path along the road to and from Île-Tudy: the path across the dam between the Rivière de Pont-l'Abbé and the Étang de Kermor.

Church of Saint James, Lambour

Highlight • Historical Site

A well-kept church ruin from the 17th century. The church spire was destroyed after the peasant revolts at the behest of Louis XIV. The church then fell into disrepair.

From the shore you have a beautiful view towards the inhabited bridge of Pont-l’Abbé and the town, as well as the church of Saint-Jacques de Lambour.

At the end of the port, you can see the towpath that leads to the sea along the GR34, or the Sentier des Douaniers.

In good weather, this little walk is simply sublime! Spoiled for choice for beaches and swimming in crystal clear water over 20 oC (July/August).
