Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul Church of Argol

Highlight • Religious Site

The construction of the Church of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul dates from the end of the 15th century, and it continued until the beginning of the 16th century. Its architecture is typical of Trégor, it has the characteristics of the so-called Beaumanoir school. The architect Phillipe de Beaumanoir, originally from Plougonven, in Trégor, was a builder of churches and chapels.

I found it to be a nice and easy-to-ride cycle path - certainly better than the one along the D-road.

Térénez Bridge

Highlight • Cycleway

Excellent dedicated bike trail separate from car traffic on this modern concrete suspension bridge across the Aulne, the last before it reaches the ocean. The Aulne Maritime estuary is quite wide for a long distance making bridge construction difficult, so the next bridge is some 20 miles inland.

Brittany is truly something special – I can always breathe deeply here.
A panoramic view accompanied by a sea of flowers – always and everywhere!
Thank you, Breton gardeners!

arrive with sunshine from the forests of Finistere.
We had a picnic on the first beach.
It's nice to see the sea now!

The Grand Bridge of Douarnenez

Highlight (Segment) • Bridge

The big bridge, the Tréboul bridge... In its younger years, it was even called the viaduct. Strangely, no one thought of giving a name to this bridge which connected Tréboul to Douarnenez and allowed the sardine activity to move up a gear.

Another nice sunny 20C day. 🌞😎 A beautiful scenic and hilly ride. We were able to enjoy a Kouign-amann (a wonderful salted carmel crunchy pastry, Andouillette (a stuffed sausage full of spiced pork intestines) Sound crazy? It was surprisingly delicous. Then a salted carmel crepe. Yow, somebody call a taxi. 😳😂 I am not sure if i can continue riding. …
