L'Arcouest (GR34)

Highlight • Other

Small promontory with a beach near the car park for the Île de Bréhat ferry. Located on the GR34 and is ideal for staying and taking a little break.

Trinity Chapel

Highlight • Religious Site

The chapel is named after the location. The building is the fifth with the name. The others were e.g. destroyed by lightning.
Granite new-gothic. Built from 1728 to 1744 and never consecrated.

Unfortunately, closed, because inside a statue "Our Lady of the Sea" are, which had been commissioned by the Archbishop of Saint-Brieuc times.

Pors-Even (Ploubazlanec)

Highlight • Restaurant

The small harbor offers very interesting insights into inshore fishing and, when the tide levels are low enough, also into the oyster beds.

Incidentally, fresh oysters and mussels can be tasted directly on site at the producer (MOULERIE LE MÉE - PORS EVEN). The Moulerie is open for lunch and dinner (except Tuesdays) and always seems to be busy. We really enjoyed (in June 2019) the fresh mussels. The boss himself takes care of the service and a small documentary film about his oyster farming is shown in the guest room. With him as the main actor, of course. The final coffee (soluble) comes in disposable cups. Nevertheless, a big recommendation from me: Definitely go there.

La Croix des Veuves

Highlight • Other

In German: widow's cross
You hardly recognize it as a cross. The other (probably Breton name) is "Kroaz Pell".
On a blackboard here it is analogous to say that a man of rich family (Dom Cornic 1671-1730) after a pilgrimage to Jerusalem has processed his religious experiences in a Way of the Cross. This begins at the "calvaire triangulier de Kerroc'h" which is unique in this area and ends here.

Really a mystical place with great views of the sea and the bays left and right. In the past, the fishermen came here to look for their husbands, not all of whom had returned from fishing.

Next to the sea is the Chapelle de la Trinité, which in its present form also goes back to Dom Cornic.

Paule Lapicque Reserve

Highlight • Other

One of the three small nature reserves around here on the GR34. Beautiful nature. Here with a rest area directly on the hiking trail.
