Arizona Canal in Old Town Scottsdale

The Old Town Scottsdale part of the Arizona Canal is a developed area of this century-old piece of infrastructure. It's great here for an early morning walk or bike ride. View of Red Mountain

Red Mountain is also known as Mt. McDowell, or even sometimes referred to as FireRock or Gunsight Butte. This mountain is 16 miles as the crow flies northwest of Gold Canyon. It's on the reservation of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. It's not accessible for public visits as there was once vandalism of historic petroglyphs, but the mountain can be viewed from here.
