The Arizona Canal Path is a remarkable trail that stretches across nearly 70 miles, making it one of the longest trails in the area, running parallel to the Arizona Canal. Appreciate the well thought out planning evident as you pass by bridges and tunnels along the path, offering a unique experience accompanied by the serene presence of the water.

The Old Town Scottsdale part of the Arizona Canal is a developed area of this century-old piece of infrastructure. It's great here for an early morning walk or bike ride. Outdoor art shows are frequently held here, and often they are placed in the water as well. On this side of the canal, enjoy wine tasting bars, boutique stores, and upscale dining.

View of Red Mountain

Red Mountain is also known as Mt. McDowell, or even sometimes referred to as FireRock or Gunsight Butte. This mountain is 16 miles as the crow flies northwest of Gold Canyon. It's on the reservation of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. It's not accessible for public visits as there was once vandalism of historic petroglyphs, but the mountain can be viewed from here.
