Levee Park on the Red Wing (Minnesota Riverfront)

Highlight • Rest Area

This park overlooks the Mississippi River in Red Wing, Minnesota. There is plenty of parking. You can access the Red Wing Riverfront trail from here, which will take you to the eastern trailhead of the Cannon Valley Trail just a few miles to the west. The park has plenty of shaded benches from where you can watch the river traffic.

This rest stop marks the midway point on the Cannon Valley Triail between Cannon Falls at the western trailhead and Red Wing at the eastern trailhead. The rest stop provides a parking lot, water, free WiFi and a bicycle repair station with air pump and tools. You can also purchase a trail ticket here. The nearby village of Welch offers ice cream.

Can't claim anything special for this ride other than a shameless effort to get enough miles to complete our virtual tour on the Elbe Cycle Path before cold weather sets in. However, it must be acknowledged that the fall colors were glorious.
