Zuiderheide Heathland – Goois Nature Reserve

On this heath, the transition from the moraine to the Eem valley is clearly visible. The area is archaeologically and geologically very important. The height differences originated 120,000 years ago in the penultimate ice age. There are some approximately 4,000-year-old prehistoric burial mounds, which protrude above the moor as clearly recognizable green domes.
