Nice little town on the Rienz, west of Bruneck. With a small, cute marketplace that is regularly used as such.

An old, low-traffic road leads via Maria Saalen to Enneberg and to St. Vigil. A really beautiful route, uphill and downhill, which is always accompanied by the magnificent view of the South Tyrolean mountains.

Circumnavigated the Kronplatz in less than ideal conditions... in sunshine, anyone can do it ☀️😅
Started at the Furka Pass and then headed clockwise, always staying at just under 1000m... the smallest country/mountain roads... St. Lorenzen, Reischach, Niederolang and in Olang with the cable car to the summit..... took 1 million photos, devoured Kaiserschmarrn and wheat beer.
Then we went …

June 27, 2024,Kronplatz - Olang
Today's tour was mainly downhill. So we first took the gondola up to Kornplatz at an altitude of 2275. After visiting Kornplatz, we went downhill on a gravel path for about 500 meters. This is just as strenuous as driving up a mountain. Then we continued steeply downhill around Kornplatz with some fantastic views, despite the overcast sky. After a …

Take the Olang 1+2 cable car and your bikes directly from Olang to the summit of Kronplatz without changing lifts.

An easy climb: exactly 1,111 meters of elevation gain in 11 minutes for €30 per person including bike (as of September 2025).

At the top, at 2,275 meters above sea level, a breathtaking 360° panoramic view awaits you.

From Kronplatz you go over a wide gravel road (4-5 km) via the Pre da Peres valley station, back to St. Vilgil.
For experienced mountain bikers who have a good mountain bike, you can also "fall" down …
