Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Castellengo

The church is a few hundred meters from the Cervo stream. It is an isolated building, between the woods, the barrack in front of it and the fields behind it. Next to it stands the small cemetery of Castellengo, indicating that the church was once a parish church.
The church was the Rectory of the parish church of San Pellegrino di Puliaco and appears in the bull of 1155, in which Emperor Frederick I granted its patronage to Bonifacio and Giovanni di Biandrate. After the Biandrate family was deposed in 1335, the patronage passed to the Alciati family, then to the Bulgaro family of Castellengo and finally to the Frichignono family.
