The Imbarrata (also called Ammarrata) is the arrival point of the high path of the Valle delle Ferriere (301 CAI) which starts from Monte Rotondo.
L'Imbarrata is a very important point of the Alta Via, the crossroads of many important paths and bridges. By following the CAI path 301 you can reach the Valle delle Ferriere, Amalfi and along the way there is the Mustaculo Belvedere (higher than 1005 meters) from which you can admire the view of Amalfi, Ravello and Scala.
Equally important is the Santa Maria dei Monti Refuge on the intersection of the CAI path 301 and the CAI path 353. Recommended place to visit if you have the opportunity to make a detour or exclusive excursion.
To continue the Alta Via from the barred, follow the path towards Colle Sant’Angelo (982m) and the Crocella area near Colle Sughero.

View of Mount Vesuvius from Sentiero San Giacomo

Highlight (Segment) • Viewpoint

The path starts from Aurano and goes up towards Monte San'Erasmo. The surface is largely composed of loose stone which, combined with significant slopes in some sections, makes the climb particularly difficult. At the end of the hairpin bends the path becomes dirt and decidedly easier and more pedalable. The view in some places is enchanting!

Mulino di Sotto of Gragnano

Highlight • Monument

The Gragnano mills differed from the fluvial ones due to the presence of vertical and not horizontal wheels, a system developed by the Amalfitans, this is because the Vernotico was a torrent that had a non-constant flow: therefore the water after being channeled was accumulated in a tower and therefore the pressure exerted and the kinetic energy allowed to move the millstone; often there was also another tower that served as a flywheel. The wheat was then ground by two stone wheels and the flour obtained fell directly into the bags, through grooves: the flour was also of excellent quality, keeping intact all the organoleptic properties, thanks to the low speed of the movement of the millstones and the consequent poor overheating.

The Gragnano nativity scene is a reminder of history, born from the great passion of master Pasquale Cesarano.
