Le Moulin Gros

Highlight • Other

Site apparently very popular with spoon fishermen. Picnic tables nearby.
The hiking trail along the Gournet stream takes you to the cycle path in the direction of Saint-Hilaire de Loulay and the Vendée Vélo in the direction of Clisson.

Vendée vélo

Highlight • Other

A superb, generally smooth, well-marked trail on an official cycle route. Be careful, in rainy weather it can get a little muddy, so you will need thicker tires and mudguards. Still quite passable in light rain.

La Palaire Gravel Path

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Beautiful wooded "gravel" portion going from La Bernadière to La Palaire. Rolling segment, just a small scree towards La Palaire which requires a little attention, but not a big technique of piloting.

Chemin du Gatz

Highlight • Other

This long, well-maintained farm track is popular with hikers. It does, however, have some stony sections. It's part of the Old Royal Road Circuit. Beautiful views of the Sèvre River and the hamlet of Fradet.

Valley of the Three Provinces

Highlight • Monument

This passage over a bridge in this valley dug by the Sèvre Nantaise is located at the exact confluence of the 3 municipalities and departments each representing one of the 3 historical provinces: Boussay, Loire Atlantique (44) for Brittany, Torfou, Maine and Loire (49) for Anjou, La Bruffière, Vendée (85) for Poitou.
It is a peaceful valley with an inn. On the map, this place is found under its real name: "La Grossière", but it is still less elegant...
For cyclists, it's an opportunity to go uphill with also 3 choices: a gentler slope (approximately 4 or 5%) going towards Torfou and Maine et Loire, steeper (6 to 8%) going towards the Bruffière and the Vendée, and can be even a little steeper (6 to 9%) on the small road which goes up towards the north and allows to branch off towards Boussay and the Loire Atlantique.

Beau Soleil natural site

Highlight • Lake

Beautiful pond surrounded by magnificent trees. Plenty of benches that encourage rest or contemplation. A welcome little patch of greenery after crossing the vineyard in the full sun. A trail allows you to go around the natural site, but I didn't have time to try it. Note that the path that connects La Fauvette to La Pontereau is very smooth and magnificent.
