Panoramic views from the heights of the hiking trail
The “Trampestien” hiking trail runs along the upper edge of the Stevns Klint cliff.
A great tour of a total of 22 kilometers awaits you here, which will take you from Bøgeskoven in the north to Rødvig in the south.
In addition, you can expect an enchanting panoramic view of the Baltic Sea, fascinating information about the history of the area and an encounter with the UNESCO World Heritage.
The trampestia is an easy route and use is at your own risk.

Højerup Old Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The old church of Højerup
The tremendous forces of nature show the old church of Højerup particularly well. It was built in the 13th century from the limestones of the cliffs. Constant erosion in 1928 meant that the church choir and part of the cemetery fell into the sea. Today, a wall secures the church, which now stands directly on the cliff.

Base of the Stevns Klint Chalk Cliffs

Highlight • Natural Monument

A visit to the world heritage site Stevns Klint is definitely worth it when the weather is sunny. The chalk makes the sea look green. The coastal path from Bøgeskov to Rødvig is a great route. Here we only walked the part between the lighthouse and the chalk cliffs at Stevns Klint. It was just too nice for a quick bike ride past.

Stevns Fyr Lighthouse

Highlight • Monument

The tall lighthouse rises from the edge of the cliff, guiding ships
and birds. Next door is the small lighthouse, which is more than 200 years old.
The area around Stevns Lighthouse, at 41 meters above sea level, is the highest point on Stevns Klint. If you approach here via the Stevns Klint Trampesti hiking trail, you can see how the Cold War left its mark on large parts of the cliff. The paths become
wide roads leading to the garage and the old barracks before reaching the two lighthouses.
By car and bicycle, you can enter through the old gate that once securely locked out all unauthorized visitors. Now everyone is welcome to enjoy the breathtaking view,
from the edge of the cliff or at the top of the 27-meter-high lighthouse.

Stevns Klint

Highlight • Natural Monument

This geological site comprises a 15 km-long fossil-rich coastal cliff, offering exceptional evidence of the impact of the Chicxulub meteorite that crashed into the planet at the end of the Cretaceous, about 65 million years ago.

Evidence suggests that this caused the most remarkable mass extinction ever, responsible for the disappearance of over 50 per cent of all life on Earth. The site contains a thin dark layer of "fiskeler", mainly five to ten centimeters thick, which is a record of the cloud of ash formed by the impact of the meteorite – the exact site being at the bottom of the ocean off the coast of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula.

An exceptional fossil record is visible at the site, showing the complete succession of fauna and micro-fauna charting the recovery after the mass extinction.
