(As of 06/2018) On the US side you can spend a very nice day at the Niagara Falls for small money. The entire area (Goat Island / Niagara Falls State Park) around the falls is a public park. For $ 10 you can park your car all day on Goat Island and walk everywhere (including the Canadian side). On the whole area there are toilets and shops with various refreshments and food. The Niagara Falls Observation Tower can be visited for $ 1.25. Included in the price is also the ride on the elevator down to the Maid of the Mist.
