Strade Bianche Konijnenkamp

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Great gravel road in the fields just outside of Beekbergen village. It's a 'Strade Bianche' type gravel road suitable for road racers also. Of course there are some loose parts so keep your hands on the steer. In the middle there are some fences. No problem to pass by, but maybe watch it with the pace there.

Descent to Beekbergen Tunnel

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

Quick part down to Beekbergen / Apeldoorn. Ideal if you want to go to Apeldoorn quickly and in a straight line. The asphalt starts a bit bad, but soon changes into a newer part, with which you can only reach below high speeds without crossings. The only drawback, at the end of the segment you have to cross an N-road to continue the route towards Beekbergen / Apeldoorn

De Woeste Hoeve

Highlight • Restaurant

De Woeste Hoeve has a long history. On August 22, 1925, the World Cycling Championships went straight through the restaurant. See the film footage in the attached link.

At the National Ash-scattering field Delhuyzen near Arnhem, the International Monument for the Unknown Child arises. This beautiful spot – amidst the natural beauty of National Park de Hoge Veluwe in the Netherlands - was put at our disposal by funeral insurance and funerary service company Yarden.
This world monument creates a bond between the children of the world and expresses suffering and dying as well as mourning and comfort following a loss. It draws our attention towards the exceptionally difficult circumstances that children sometimes live in: children who live on the dark side of life.
It is a monument of hope and trust. With this monument we whish to remember children who are no longer with us and pause for a moment with the children of now, and with the future of all children.
This monument-in-progress is made up of 35 stones. The 35 participating countries will in turn receive the work of art ‘Rose’. This rose is the starting point for a Monument for the Unknown Child in these countries.
The International Monument for the Unknown Child is a world-wide monument, that sends out a message aimed at everyone. It demands attention for the situation of all children in the world. In this way it creates attention for the Unknown Child all over the world.

Bosweg climb

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

The Bosweg climb is a small climb in the city of Arnhem. The nicest thing about it is that it doesn't feel like an urban climb at all. It's in the heart of park Klarenbeek and green all around. Near the top of this segment (leading straight ahead at the crossroads) you can choose to turn right at the crossroads and climb even further up towards 'De Steenen Tafel'... a tower restaurant on top of the park.

Cycle highway parallel to the A50

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

The old 'Apeldoornseweg' is the old road connecting Arnhem to Apeldoorn. Nowadays there's the A50 highway next to it, but this old asphalt road is still perfect for road racing quickly but still beautiful from north to south (and the other way around) across the Veluwe.
Riding next to a highway might not sound that great, but you barely notice the highway at all with the green in between and the wind in your ears.
