The Merano arcades are an 800-year-old shopping street consisting of two rows of buildings with arcades, separated by a narrow passage.
Historically, they originated as "Wasserlauben" (water arcades) and "Berglauben" (mountain arcades).

The arcades, built by Meinhard II, Count of Tyrol, in the 13th century, have been
almost uninterruptedly the center of the city's bustling activity ever since.

Wonderful walk above Merano with a fantastic view of Merano and the surrounding area and over to Lagundo.

We recommend this walk especially in spring or autumn, as summer is usually a little too hot for it.

The tour is absolutely not strenuous and offers beautiful views and landscapes around it.
