Saint-Briac-sur-Mer offers an alternation of seaside and countryside landscapes, beautiful jagged coastlines, white sand beaches and coves... which have made it one of the most popular seaside resorts on the Coast. Emerald. The historic center, made up of pretty alleys full of flowers in summer, has beautiful architectural ensembles: sailors' houses (many date from the 18th century), with beautiful engraved lintels: crosses or date of construction. The polders, on the northeast part of Beaussais-sur-Mer, are somewhat reminiscent of the Dutch seaside. A first dyke was built in the 13th century by the monks of the Abbey of Saint-Jacut; farmers built a second in the course of the 19th century to gain new cultivable land. They definitively deprive the municipality of the beach. However in March 2020 the sea opened a breach in the containment; faced with the inexorable rise in sea level, the choice was made not to fill it (because expensive work had been done in vain since the 2000s to repair it); the breach is gradually widening, reaching around thirty meters at the end of 2021; as a result, the polder pastures are retreating in the face of salicornia and obiones and a small municipal road had to be closed in August 2019.
