Triefenbach Trail (Brückenpädel)

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Nice path along the Triefenbach from Hilschweiher to the Gasthaus Hüttenbrunnen. At the inn, be sure to walk about 100 meters up the mountain to see the springs that spring up there. Worthwhile.👍

Schänzelturm on the Steigerkopf

Highlight • Monument

In 1795 there was a battlefield below the Schänzel Tower. Two large memorial stones commemorate this. On the further way there are several carved stones that refer to the battle.

Ludwig Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

When the tower was built in 1889, it is said to have had a complete all-round view. Nowadays the view of the Rhine plain is blocked by trees. But you can see well to the east and north-west.

"It was better to drive bad than well!" Fun - the ride in the rustic chair lift I really liked. Reminded me of my Alpine holidays as a child.

Very nice, varied tour in the Palatinate Forest

Showing Translation

Beautiful tour with many paths and few forest roads. Below is a path along the Triefenbach. Views of the Rhine plain. Ascent of the Ludwig and Schänzel towers. Hints of Mediterranean forest. Opportunities to stop off eg at the Rietburg, Hüttenbrunnen, Naturfreundehaus. (Opening hours!)

Nice tour, with great hiking weather. Very few people on the way, very relaxing. ☺️

One of my favorite hikes; it offers everything the Palatinate Forest has to offer. However, I only hike this route during the week and outside of school holidays. Otherwise, some sections of the route are very busy, and you're hiking in a convoy. I prefer the peace and quiet while hiking.

Yesterday's Rhodt'er round 1 was a really nice tour...
today was/is just terrific!!!

Because it was so beautiful, we start the same way through the Gruselmannstal via Hilschweiher and further along the wildly romantic Triefenbach,
until we reach the Edenkobener Hütte again.

Showing Translation

Leisurely ascent to the Rietburg with the historic Rietburgbahn. After the view from the Rietburg, it goes past the deer park to the wooded ridge of the Blettersberg. The highest point is marked with a small cairn. At the old Ludwigsturm there is another nice view. From here it goes on a narrow path along the edge of the mountain …

Showing Translation

A beautiful round with varied paths and many opportunities to stop off (Hüttenbrunnen Edenkoben, Naturfreundehaus Edenkoben, Rietburg). On warm days we would recommend walking the route in the other direction.

Showing Translation

Those who find the elevation gain too much will have to wait until the Rietburg cable car reopens.

Highlights/Points of Interest:

- Villa Ludwigshöhe
- Beautiful viewpoint
- Rietburg Castle
- Ludwig Tower
- Kohl- und Benderplatz (Kohl and Bender Square)
- Triefenbach Valley
- Hilschweiher Pond
