St. Nicholas Bridge with bridge saints near Grasmannsdorf

Nikola bridge over the Rauhe Ebrach and the Sauerwiesgraben at Grasmannsdorf, market Burgebrach: View from direction Grasmannsdorf. On the northwest side of the bridge are statues of saints.
It was only in the 18th century that the splendid row of Grasmannsdorfer Brückenheiligen was built, as it is still today. After the bridge saints Nicholas and John Nepomuk joined in the years 1715-1740 still five other saints, namely Kilian, Vitus, Wolfgang, Heinrich and Otto. They are not pronounced bridge saints, but are witnesses to the history of this country. But why seven bridge saints? Lisberg Castle

Lisberg Castle is one of the oldest surviving castles in Germany and is the only intact castle in the Steigerwald.
