An easy 2-hour hike that is mostly done in the forest (estimated to be more deciduous than coniferous) and is therefore also suitable for the summer. The path is clearly signposted and easy to walk. Part of the route passes small streams and you can listen to the flowing water. Above the alpine hut you have a beautiful view and can take a leisurely break. In my opinion, the alpine hut is the highlight - where else can you find something similar in our region? Unfortunately, the alpine hut was closed when I went on the hike...

My conclusion: Unfortunately, the route (route + surfaces) is a little too monotonous for me and there are too few great views here. But it is definitely recommended for a short, easy hike.

📍 Almglück Dream Loop

A gentle stream accompanies you for part of the route – the Wadrillbach stream burbles peacefully through the green valley. Forest, ferns, and moist ground lie to the right and left, with the occasional patch of sunshine on the water. A quiet stretch that is pleasantly cooling and slows down the pace.

💡 Tip:
Just stop, listen, and breathe – here, the journey is the destination. Ideal on warm days.

Just above the quiet street and the Wadrill, the trail leads through the densely wooded Wadrilltal. In some places you have a nice view of the green slopes.

Grimburg Castle

Highlight • Castle

On a mountain spur above the Wadrilltal perched the striking ruins of the Grimburg. The castle and the preserved entrance tower can be visited daily and free of charge. From April to September, the Burgtreff also opens on weekends and public holidays. Here, interested people can inform themselves about the history of the castle between 13.30 and 18 o'clock and also enjoy drinks and snacks.

Hochwald Alm Tree Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

This piece of the Hochwald Alm is closely fenced in so as not to disturb the grazing operations. To compensate, there is an informative tree trail with information boards about local trees such as various types of beech, maple, linden and oak. There is also a young tree as an illustrative object.

...great hike through a lot of forest 🌳 and there is almost always shade by the water 💦 past with coronation 👑 the ascent to the grimburg 🏰👍🏻

The Almglück dream loop is very beautiful. To extend the walk a bit, and because we really wanted to go there, we made a detour to Grimburg 🏰. It was definitely worth it, even though the kiosk was unfortunately closed. Instead, we stopped for a rest at the Hochwaldalm Wadrill. A beautiful spot with a very friendly host and a …

The actual dream loop is more of a loop with 6.7km. I added the Grimburg, then my planned lap would have been 7.5 km. But since the gate at the Grimburger Hof was locked, it was almost 9. That's why I got gossip wet towards the end of the round 😳. The castle is really great, I'm glad I included …

Today, did a Father's Day hike with friends. The start and finish was at the "Grimburger Hof" inn. The tour was entertaining and included a detour up to the ruins of Grimburg.

Since I currently still have some time, I wanted to take the opportunity to drive in the snow today.
First, the dream loop "summit noise" was the goal.
But since a hiking friend would like to hike with me, I postponed it to Monday and was looking for an alternative for today.
The Almglück Traumschleife has been on my list …

Getting there = hiking day on the Almglück dream loop.
The loop is actually 6.7 km long, but after about 2.5 km there was a sign saying 0.7 km to Grimburg. You couldn't just ignore that and the detour to the castle was included. All I can say is that it was totally worth it. To have the great castle …
