Belltower Brewing

Highlight • Pub

"Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy." That quote is often attributed to Benjamin Franklin, though there is debate as to whether or not he actually said it. However, it is something to keep in mind as you enjoy one of the wonderful selection of brews made inside this converted church. Don't worry if you've worked up an appetite as well as a thirst, since the food here is just as excellent as the beer.

Portage Hike and Bike Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Much of the 7-mile long Portage Trail follows traditional Native American routes that have been in use for millennia. These days the trail connects a number of towns across the region and travels by many schools, parks, nature preserves, and businesses.

Towner's Woods

Highlight • Lake

Towner's Woods is home to the 539-acre Lake Pippen and the Towner Mound. The mound was created by the people from the Hopewell Culture that thrived along the Eastern Woodlands and Great Lakes Region and further south to the Gulf Coast and Florida. Not a single society or tribe, the Hopewell were connected by a vast trade network across pre-contact America.
