Bottwartalbahn Railway Route

Highlight • Cycleway

The Bottwartalbahn ran from Marbach to Heilbronn. The first sections of the route were opened in 1894, and the entire route was passable in 1900. It was used for both freight trains and passenger traffic to Heilbronn and Marbach.
Due to the increase in private traffic, the railway line was gradually closed from 1966 to 2002 and most of the tracks were dismantled.
Today the route is used as a cycling and hiking path.
