The small public park is one of the less crowded places in Taormina, offers a pleasant shady atmosphere and at the balustrade a wonderful view of the coast and Etna. And at the northern entrance there's pretty good granita!

October 20, 2024,Mediterranero Guest House in Giardini Naxos - Taormina - Castelmola - und zurück
We did this tour in mid-October on a Sunday - accordingly, the tourist spots were very busy. But we just got through them quickly :-) What we wouldn't do again: From Naxos directly under the motorway bridge up to Taormina - here I recommend the "Goethe path", which we also "climbed" down.

What a life event! We were anchored at the foot of Taormina in Giardini Naxos when Mount Etna erupted that evening. Two pictures of it are from Instagram. The term "overtourism" fits Taormina. So I only stayed up there briefly, then took the bus back to Giardini Naxos quite soon.
