The welcome house is a sandstone and half-timbered building between Neuwirtshaus and Schönderling from 1842. The welcome house was built as a so-called forestry or forest protection building to provide accommodation to a mounted small military or police force in protecting the forests from poachers and forest renegades. It could later have served as a meeting place for King Ludwig I and his lover Lola Montez - but there is no historical evidence.
