We thoroughly enjoyed this truly fantastic round trip in early May. We stopped briefly in Bad Kissingen for ice cream at the spa gardens. From there, we continued along good forest paths directly along the Saale River to Hammelburg. Recommendation: Stop for a break in Aura an der Saale at the Brand organic farm.
