St. Anna Chapel with View of the Rhine Plain

Highlight • Religious Site

The chapel can already be seen from the A65 and from the top you have a nice view of the Rhine Valley.
In the evening it is illuminated.

Trifelsblick-Hütte (PWV Gleisweiler)

Highlight • Mountain Hut

One of the most beautiful huts in the area. In any case, excellent view of the Trifels! If the crowd of people is not too large, it can be very cozy there. Good value for money.

October 13, 2024,Hüttentour im Pfälzer Wald
Despite the rain during the night, all the paths were easy to walk on. From Gleisweiler we went to the Landauer Hut, Trifelsblick Hut and via the St. Anna Hut back to Gleisweiler. A beautiful tour. There were people collecting chestnuts everywhere.

Today we went on a relaxed tour from Gleisweiler via Landauer Hütte to Trifelsblickhütte. After so much rain, we finally got some sun again and got out into the air. That was good for the psyche...
Still a little shaky on my feet with residual symptoms from the flu, but the forest air felt good. Halfway there I thought, who …

You can park at Gleisweiler on Lindenallee (hiking car park)

From here follow the path above the parking lot, then turn left and follow the RED-WEISS markings.
A detour to the forest shower can also be made on this path.

The Landauer Hütte then appears at the room square.

From here, follow the BLUE-YELLOW markings to the Dreimärker.

We started relatively early from the hiking car park in Gleisweiler. The Landauer Hut wasn't open yet. At the Trifelsblick Hut (PWV Gleisweiler), we were able to refuel and enjoy a wonderful view of Trifels Castle.

Today we were on the road with DAV Weinheim in the southern Palatinate. The trip went by bus to Gleisweiler near Landau. 34 fellow hikers made their way up to the St. Anna Chapel, then it went up to the Wetterkreuz at 597 m. The Trifelsblickhütte was the next destination, unfortunately you couldn't see the mighty Trifels, it was very …

The trails are never particularly steep, making the elevation gain easy to manage. P.S.: Assuming there's free parking, you can also start from the forest parking lot, which saves a bit of walking, but the walk through Gleisweiler is …
