Stahlberg Mine

Highlight • Historical Site

The "Stahlberg Mine" was in operation for more than 600 years until 1931. It is one of the oldest in the Siegerland - the oldest document dates from 1313. The famous Siegerland quality steel was made from its spade. The steel mountain supplied the smelters of the northern Siegerland with pig iron, lead, zinc, copper and silver. Generations of miners worked here - they ran from Ferndorf and Kredenbach on miners' trails via Martinshardt to Müsen or came to Ernsdorf from the Kronprinz-Friedrich-Wilhelm-Erbstollen to their workplaces. Ideal to take a little rest ... The view is now pretty nice, unfortunately some trees have been cut down (probably by bark beetles)!

Kindelsberg Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Kindelsberg and its tower are always worth a trip. It can be particularly nicely combined with the 14 kilometer long Kindelsberg path.

View of Siegerland and Westerwald

Highlight • Viewpoint

Since the storm Kyrill swept over the "Südsattel" of the Kindelsberg, one has a wonderful view over Siegerland and Westerwald up to the Siebengebirge in every season of the year. In some places, however, the young trees are now blocking the view. Especially recommended in the afternoon and evening to fully enjoy the sunshine and sunset.

A beautiful circular hike with not-so-clear visibility from Kredenbach to the Kindelsberg Tower and back to Kredenbach. Unfortunately, my phone's recording was a bit choppy again. The trail is well marked, though.

Great route with fantastic views and some highlights.
The climb from Müsen to Kindelsberg on the way back was tough.

Today we started east of Krombach on the free🅿️ Kindelsberg. We did the round in such a way that we first visited the tower with a rest stop. Unfortunately it wasn't up that early in the morning. But the view was already amazing👍🏼. Many stations, some of them with small huts, invite you to linger. QR codes provide information about …

A tour that leads almost exclusively along narrow hiking trails, or sometimes wider paths. You walk a maximum of 5-600m on asphalt. Partly in the sun, a lot in the forest, you pass the natural outdoor pool. You can eat very well in the beautiful Kindelsberg restaurant, and climb the tower via a good 100 steps right at the entrance. …

On August 2nd I went to Kredenbach by bus and train to walk the Kindelsbergpfad.

The starting point is usually at the hiking car park below the MVZ Kredenbach.

It was a really nice tour today with the best weather, the route mostly went through oak and beech forests, I haven't been in such a large, continuous deciduous forest for a long time. Then again, there were amazing panoramic views that I couldn't capture on my phone. I took it very easy, as there were numerous benches and beautiful …
