Herz-Jesu Chapel

Highlight • Religious Site

On the way from Hetten to Hohen Peißenberg, the Sacred Heart Chapel is hidden in the forest. Since 2009, the chapel has offered hikers a place of peace and reflection.

You can get pilgrim stamps in the rectory. The house adjacent to the church towards the street. There through the small gate and then ring the bell for "Müller", S. also hohenpeissenberg.de/default-0b6a270dfe/default-d5177c9aa6/default-06be2be78f

Today I hiked up the mountain again. A steep climb through the forest, past the chapel, and also past the memorial for the Englishwoman Jenny Wood, who tragically died here. Once at the top, I checked out the newly erected information pavilion for the weather station. Very interesting and highly recommended. Then I returned via my bike route along Frauenwaldstrasse.

It's better to drive up to the parking lot of the "Bayerischer Rigi" restaurant (parking ticket machine) and do a lap there. Among other things, you get a beautiful view of 200 km of Alpine panorama, the …

Today I did the "Mountain Weather Trail" tour on the Hohen Peißenberg. There you had a fantastic view of the Alps and on the other side you could see the Ammersee and the Raisting earth station. Other sights include the pilgrimage church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the weather station of the DWD.

When I go up and down, my speed suffers immensely 🥵 the path down because it's washed out and slippery and up - it's just uphill *gasp*. 🤗
