August 31, 2025,Rheinsteig 12. Etappe Niederlahnstein - Koblenz-Ehrenbreitstein (Süd-Nord)
Today we finally continued on—united with Wanderwoman! Up through the Rupperts Gorge and then through wonderfully light forests back to the Rhine.

The second day of our sunny holiday on the Rheinsteig. A very varied route. On the whole, the path has dried well. The highlight of the day for us was clearly the Ruppertstal Gorge. The weather cooperated great. And the temperatures are just right for the ascents and descents.

A beautiful hike through the great Ruppertsklamm. We parked in Niederlahnstein near the train station and from there walked about 2km through the town and along the road above the Lahn to the gorge. The gorge itself is in parts suitable for climbers who are sure-footed and good on foot. Since it has rained a lot recently, the stream was …

The Ruppertsklamm has been on my list for a long time, so this time I ended up in Koblenz. I had already got to know the Hunsrück and saved it as very beautiful. The proximity to the Rhine, or this time also the Lahn, with its beautiful views of the river meanders make this area special. Oak forests, beech forests, …

This morning we took public transport to Koblenz to watch the "Rhine in Flames" fireworks this evening. After checking into our accommodation, we took the train to Niederlahnstein. Our 10th stage started from the train station, as we wanted to climb the Ruppertsklamm. The approach to the Ruppertsklamm was rather unspectacular. It wasn't until we entered the wild, romantic gorge …

The Ruppertsklamm near Lahnstein is certainly one of the highlights of the Rheinsteig. The small stream has dug the gorge about two kilometers deep into the clay slate and sandstone. In difficult places, steps have been carved into the rock, small bridges have been built or ropes have been stretched to hold on. Unfortunately, it is difficult to properly capture …
