Laufenburg Castle

Highlight • Castle

Laufenburg is a beautifully preserved and well-maintained knight's castle from the 12th century. Amazingly, over the centuries it only changed hands through inheritance or purchase, not through military conflict. The castle was not damaged until the 20th century, but was partially destroyed in the Second World War.

After the war it was lovingly restored and today you can take a break on your hikes in a traditional restaurant in the idyllically situated castle.

A lovely, leisurely hike along paths and trails.
A special highlight was the sight of plenty of photogenic frogs in and around the pond, both at the beginning and again at the end.

Hiking with friends! Today, Merle and I enjoyed a lovely walk through the Meroder Forest, accompanied by two dog friends and a lovely hiking companion. At Laufenburg, we had coffee, which we naturally enjoyed outside in the beautiful weather. (Dogs are not allowed inside.)
There aren't many photos today. Somehow, we got chatting too much.
