August 12, 2024,An Lauterach und Vils durch die oberpfälzer Toskana 🇮🇪😂
Around the Hirschwald forest on very nice cycle paths and old railway lines. I cycled comfortably in temperatures of over 30°. Highly recommended tour, with a small point deduction due to the lack of or closed beer gardens.

Started in Kastl at the former train station, then always along the Lauterach to Schmidtmühlen.
From now on with the 5Flüsseradweg along the Vils until just before Amberg.
The last stretch on the Schweppermannradweg (former railway line Amberg - Lauterhofen) back to Kastl

Today's Sunday tour went to Tuscany in the Upper Palatinate. Thanks to Bayern 1, there was a report a week ago about cycle paths in Bavaria and the Lauterach Valley which stuck with me as Tuscany of the Upper Palatinate. Of course, I also took a look at the surrounding area and noticed the Schweppermann cycle path, so a circuit …

We started in Kastl. In the direction of Amberg, down to Schmidmühlen and back to Kastl. The route along the Lauterach was particularly beautiful. We had a picnic with us as there weren't many places to stop for refreshments. Finally, we discovered the Hammermühle for ☕🍰 right on the way. There are lots of places to rest along the way …

A wonderful tour. Close to nature, away from the road and yet mostly on asphalt paths.

Today I went on a touring bike ride through the Upper Palatinate around the Hirschwald forest. The scenery was very beautiful and the cycle paths were great, even for inexperienced cyclists.

Start at the old train station in Kastl - now Cappuccino Station and then the Lauterachtal cycle path to Schmidtmühlen.
On the 5 Rivers Cycle Path along the Vils to Amberg.
Strolled a bit through the old town and stopped at Schloderer Bräu.
The last stage on the Schweppermann Cycle Path (formerly the Amberg-Lauterhofen railway line) back to the car …

So today, at the start of the holiday, we're going on a bike tour into enemy territory again. No, not to Unterfarrnbach, not even to the Ronhof or to Nuremberg. (Which would not be an enemy country for me either) Think big, as big as you can think as a Middle Franconian, it goes .... to the Upper Palatinate.
