Enningalm

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Here is probably one of the best Kaiserschmarrn in the Prealps. Unfortunately, the Alm is only managed, as long as the cattle is up. So urgently inform in advance, if it is open.

Rotmoos Switchback Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The trail is pretty exposed, but hardly blocked. Therefore perfect to ride, even with a hardtail, as long as you are free from giddiness and can get around switchbacks. In a pinch you can also push through the curves. :)

June 28, 2025,Oberammergau auf die Enningalm und Rotmoosalmtrail
Nice MTB tour to warm up for tomorrow's 2-day tour into the Karwendel.

Nice tour over the Reschbergwiesen with a long gravel driveway to the Enningalm.
Absolute highlight for me at the Enningalm the Kaiserschmarrn and the very friendly, nice landlady.

Great way back via the Spitzkehr single trail, sometimes a bit exposed but always good to ride.
Mastering rear wheel displacement is a must on the trail.

September 20, 2025,Enningalm & Rotmoostrail
Luigi, who is ignorant, has never been to the Enningalm, and he's also unfamiliar with the Rotmoostrail. This educational gap urgently needs to be closed! The long, sunny ascent to the alpine pasture is too hot in summer, even with electricity. But today, everything is just perfect 😊.

The way to the Enning (in memoriam Moser 2/24) is the same as 10 years ago, the bike has a fresh inspection, only I've gotten older. That's why I was already up at half past nine for breakfast.
Then the first thunderstorm came. Way too early. But betrayed the rain with Livia and little Franzi. The former then joined on …

From the car park at the Farchant outdoor pool (day ticket=5€) via forest paths up to the Enningalm. The highlight is the descent down the S1 Trail to the Rotmoosalm. Once in the valley, we went back to Farchant via Ettal and Oberau. Conclusion: Great tour and thank God the weather held up ;-)

Quite steep up to the Enningalm. From the Enningalm, pushing and mainly carrying is the order of the day up to the Feldernkopf. Then a piece mobile over the cow pasture. From the start of the trail you left your bike and hiked on to the Kienjoch. Very cool view of the Zugspitze and the Ammersee and other lakes.

It was a super nice tour, but not quite "without". One should not forget that almost all the meters in altitude can be reached within a distance of around 10 kilometers. A few e-bikers came towards me who had run out of battery and didn't even get to the top.

Wonderful last warm day with:

Advanced course "Reversing switchbacks" - a lonely and wonderful, endless playground (training trail) for "Rear wheel offset GAGA MTBers" ❤❤❤❤. Target water for a 20 cm wide trail is also practiced on the side - otherwise it's OTB *. At the end there is a lively bump straight on over hill and dale 😍 total …
