We park on the country road near Rethwisch opposite the Lägerdorf cement works and walk along the Breitenburger Moorkanal through the Rethwisch biotope area.

Renaturation began here in the 1980s. The decoupling of the area from the ongoing drainage meant that a wetland with a high groundwater level could develop again.
