Biscarrosse Seaplane Museum

From Wikipedia
Since the beginning of aviation, the waters around Biscarrosse have been a base for seaplanes. The Toulouse-based aircraft company Latécoère operated a final assembly hall for its Latécoère 631 flying boat on the northern edge of the southern lake. The flying boats, which were dismantled into their main sections, were transported from Toulouse to Biscarrosse using low-loaders, sometimes over the same country roads as the A380 in the opposite direction decades later.

The Hourtiquets flying boat base, which is now located in a restricted military area (see next section), was built southwest of the Latécoère factory in 1940. During the Second World War they were used by the Luftwaffe's Maritime Reconnaissance Group 129 between the summer of 1943 and 1944; it was equipped with BV 222 and BV 138. In Biscarrosse, a museum commemorates naval aviation.

The cycle path network is very well developed here. Most of the time, you can also use a racing bike.
