Le Léguer, Lannion

Highlight • River

The Léguer is a 59 kilometer river. It only crosses two towns, including Lannion. Populated by Atlantic salmon, European otters and many other species, it is labeled “Site Rivières Sauvages”. It is therefore a vein of blue gold which crosses the beautiful town of Lannion. It takes its source at a place called “Pen Léguer” and flows into the sea at the Bay of Lannion.

From the banks of the Léguer in Lannion, you can see the leisure center, the former Saint-Anne convent and the park of the same name.

Louguivy-lès-Lannion extends in a beautiful setting on the side of a hill. Nestled in the greenery on the banks of the Léguer, the church dates back to the 15th century. A curious external staircase leads to the bell gable (1570). In the chapel to the right of the choir, note the 17th-century altarpiece: the carvings depict the Adoration of the Magi, with shepherds in Breton costumes playing the biniou and the bombarde.
The granite fountain under the ancient yews in the cemetery dates from 1577.

Pont Roux Beach

Highlight • Beach

Watch out, little wonder! At high tide, at least. Pont Roux beach is located below an important archaeological site: Yaudet, a former Gallic and then Gallo-Roman fortress. The sandy area is reduced but tiny creeks all around and the low water level still allow you to find a small corner. The view of the Bay of the Virgin is magnificent, but the steepness of the valley does not allow optimal sunshine. It's better in the second half of the day. The collection of the beach also produces a very characteristic and familiar acoustic resonance. You feel like in a cocoon.

At low tide, the space widens significantly. Be careful, fishing on foot is uncertain because it is often prohibited here.
