Czartoryski Mound

Highlight • Monument

The history of the Czartoryski Mound is that after the fall of the November Uprising in 1831, Prince Adam Czartoryski visited the Holy Cross here on his way to exile; he also gave a political speech. His officers carved in the ground with sabres: From this height we raise our prayers to God for our perishing Fatherland.

The Mound is in memory of these events.

Puszcza Jodłowa Forest

Highlight • Forest

The Jodłowa Forest is the heart of the Świętokrzyski National Park, encompassing vast forests dominated by ancient firs and beeches. It is one of the most valuable forest complexes in Poland, protected since the interwar period. The most famous trail running through the forest is the red trail to Łysa Góra, leading through picturesque, wild areas. Among the attractions, it is worth mentioning the gołoborza, or rocky rubble, and the rich fauna, including deer, wild boars and rare species of birds. It is a great place for hiking and cycling, especially in autumn, when the forests take on extraordinary colours. It is worth stocking up on good shoes, because the trails can be slippery, especially after rain.

Łysa Góra

Highlight • Summit

At this peak there is an entrance to the gołoborów, benches and tables, and getting there is much easier than to Góra Łysice or Agate, although it is ok there, but everyone can get there. If you have been to another place in the Park before, you will get a discount by showing your entrance ticket to the Park. There's plenty of shade here on sunny days.

Holy Cross Monastery (Święty Krzyż)

Highlight • Religious Site

The Holy Cross and Łysa Góra have been places of worship for centuries, first pagan, and from the 12th century Roman Catholic. It is worth stopping here, because it is a true monument and a place with a considerable history.

Such a must have. It's beautiful downstairs, but the views here are great. Entrance to the tower through the main gate of the monastery and to the right. Last entry at 4:40 p.m., open until 5 p.m. There is a small fee.

East Gate of the Holy Cross Monastery

Highlight • Religious Site

In the wall surrounding the monastery on the Holy Cross, on the eastern side, there is a decorative late-baroque gate from the 17th century, made of brick, with rectangular rectangular facades, with a passage vaulted with a cradle cradle. The gate was completely renovated in 1963. It was covered with a copper plate in 1976.

The monastery is open daily from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (in the summer season until 8.00 p.m.).
There is a possibility of guided tours of the monastery upon prior telephone reservation.
