Path along the Warme Bode to Braunlage Kurpark

Highlight • Trail

This path is beautiful, along great rocks on one side and the Warme Bode on the other side. The path is asphalted and leads to the beautiful spa gardens of Braunlage.

Entrance to Kurpark, Braunlage

Highlight • Rest Area

Here you now enter the spa gardens. The spa park was built between 1928 and 1931. In 1950, a foyer was built in the western part, which was replaced in 1976 by a modern, larger spa center. The spa park consists of an upper part, with beautiful trees and benches (partly made of stone), and a lower part with the gondola pond, which was laid out in 1908 and 1909, and a very modern water treading facility, very beautiful flower beds with benches. During my hike there were many visitors, but there was no mass tourism, you could relax in peace.

The health resort Braunlage has a very nice spa park. This park, which is not dissimilar to a large landscaped garden, is located in the east of the city. Already in the years 1908 and 1909 the spa pond was created as a gondola pond. In the summer months, the spa guests could ride on it with rowing boats and in winter was ice skating on the frozen waters and played ice hockey. In addition, they were active here in his time popular curling. The actual spa park was built only in the years 1928 to 1931. It contained u.a. a music pavilion and an artificial grotto at the concert place. The design was based on plans by Bad Pyrmont garden director W. Dirks. In 1950, a foyer for 800 people was built on the west side of the park. This building was replaced in 1976 by today's, more modern and larger Kurgastzentrum with a total of 2,300 m² floor space. In this is u.a. a concert hall holding about 1000 people.

This camel spruce is so named because of its shape. It used to stand at the top of the climb to the Achtermann mountain and was a popular subject for photographs, practically famous. The camel spruce has now found its final resting place here by the Kurpark pond.

The viewing platform is worthwhile, although the ascent egL is pretty steep from which side.
...if the text doesn't match the Gondelteich highlight ... sorry for that!
I would like to rate the Kanzl and get the feedback... "here already exists a highlight"
I'm skeptical... but I'll post my info.

Highlight • Rest Area

The treading pool is very modern of its kind. It is used a lot and gives some hikers a good refreshment of the walking tools.

In the fountain hall of the spa guest center in Braunlage, an exciting overview of the natural treasures of the Harz National Park, but also of its tasks and goals is given. Numerous taxidermy animals, a miniature forest and much more make the room a worth seeing addition to the offers of the Kurgastzentrum Braunlage in the middle of the Kurpark. The room can also be experienced by wheelchair users.

Visit the information point! It can be visited free of charge during the opening times of the spa guest center.
