Freibergsee

Highlight • Lake

The Freibergsee is located at an altitude of 930 meters. With a water surface of around 16 hectares, it is the largest high mountain lake in the Allgäu. The Freibergsee has no visible inflows or outflows. Its periodically fluctuating water level is regulated by underground inflows and outflows. The lake was formed during the ice ages when the ice masses of the Stillach glacier towered 700 to 800 meters high above the current location.

Beautiful forest for walking! We took the elevator up to the Schanze because our 10.5-year-old had a wound on her foot. The walk around the lake is wonderful and not at all demanding. Very suitable for strollers too. Beautiful for lingering.

Easy round around the Freibergsee. 💙

Tip: We rented a pedal boat at the natural pool. We enjoyed our break / snack on the water. 🍞

And of course a visit to the ski jumping hill was a must. We found it very interesting

The Heini Klopfer ski flying hill is a mega destination. From the top of the ski jump you have a super nice view over the Freibergsee to Oberstdorf and other towns as well as over the Stillachtal and the surrounding mountains, including the Nebelhorn. Then we went another round around the Freibergsee

A very nice round in connection with a visit to the ski flying hill. The shady path goes up and down a bit... The restaurant is also very quiet, not accessible by car 👌. Don't forget your bathing suit...

First we took the lift up to the Heinrich-Klopfer ski jump in Oberstdorf. 🏔The girls had to wear muzzles, which they did really well. 🥰From there we went on a small, beautiful forest loop around the Freibergsee. Unfortunately Koomot didn't record the route to the end.
I have no idea why it's always been like this the last few times. …

Today we went to the ski flying hill in Oberstdorf and then bathed in the Freibergsee

Today @Panter Paul and I walked around the Freibergsee. @Panter Paul wanted to test how well he could walk after his fall and I wanted to take some photos so we ran a little longer. The walk around the lake is really easy and there are always great views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Two more tips:
