Sunset Bar

Highlight • Cafe

The Sunset Bar is the perfect place to end the day in a relaxed way – with a direct view of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountain scenery 🌊🏔️. As the name suggests, the sunset plays the main role here: when the light warms up and the sky slowly changes color, a very special atmosphere is created ✨.
With a drink in hand, a relaxed vibe, and the proximity to the water, the Sunset Bar invites you to linger, switch off, and enjoy 🍹🙂. Your gaze wanders over the lake as boats pass by and the mountains are bathed in soft evening light 🚤🌅.

Music Pavilion, Kurplatz, Lucerne

Highlight • Monument

In the summer you can play petanque in front of the pavilion, listen to concerts or enjoy the sun and the view of the Pilatus and the KKL Luzern with a creamy ice cream.

The music pavilion is located on the Kurplatz between the Schweizerhofquai and the Nationalquai and is located directly on the lake. You can reach the pavilion comfortably after a walk along the lakeside promenade of Lucerne.

concerts
From May to September the free pavilion concerts take place in good weather. On Tuesday and Friday evening at 8.15 pm and on Sunday morning at 10:15 pm, the pavilion will be transformed into a public outdoor concert hall. Up to 50 different formations play in over 70 concerts the lake promenade on Lake Lucerne. From jazz and blues bands to brass bands, regional music clubs, accordion orchestras and alpine horn orchestras, listen to a variety of music genres under chestnut trees.

During the Blue Balls Festival, two open-air concerts take place every day on the pavilion stage. During the "Lilu Light Festival Lucerne" the pavilion becomes the scene of a light installation.

Tradition since 1908
The pavilion was built in 1908 according to the plans of the German architect Bruno Schmitz in geometric Art Nouveau style. It was planned to have a 60-strong spa orchestra perform on stage twice a day. The pavilion concerts have been a tradition on the Kurplatz for over 100 years.

LED lamps in the interior of the mosaic-decorated stage shell provide a harmonious stage light in the evening.
