Not suitable for strollers and no flip-flops is recommended 😅
The Calmont via ferrata on the Moselle is easier and much shorter than this gorge.
We really liked it. Great nature and colors. Crystal clear water.
Other gorges may have higher waterfalls, but here we were impressed by the natural path. Here you don't walk on gratings through the gorge.

A very beautiful and also somewhat demanding gorge (soil conditions/slope). One of the most beautiful in Austria. Lots of rock and damp tree roots. Put on good mountaineering boots and bring sticks if you like. Climbing harness not required. There are exits along the way, or you can also go back. €6 entrance fee. Inn next to the entrance. Plenty …

We hike from the starting point of the gorge near Möderndorf through the Garnitzenklamm. The winter changed a lot in the gorge, so that new paths had to be laid and new bridges had to be brought into the gorge. After the third part of the gorge, I continued to the end of the fourth part, but left my cell …

If you are in the corner, a must! Also feasible for children up to and including part 3, provided they have sturdy shoes and are sure-footed. Mostly well secured, but exhausting. The way back is a bit monotonous, but unavoidable. Nothing beats fresh mountain water! Always follow the current information on the homepage of the gorge, after storms closures are …

The first part of the gorge is easier to walk on. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the Idawarte. There you can already see the first larger waterfalls. From the Idawarte to the Franzenswarte it goes steeply uphill and just before bridge 3 it is quite exposed. There is a rope railing but no safety device to the …

Very nice rope-insured path through the gorge which consists of IV parts. Return via the small church of St. Urbani to the parking lot. KS Set is not necessary until the end of Part III. Optionally, you can go the IV part to the end of the gorge.

Today drove to Austria / Carinthia for a few days. In order to stretch our legs after the long journey, before we checked into the hotel, we took a little tour.
We decided on the Garnitzenklamm. Everyone knows the song about 7 bridges you have to walk. Here you have to or can go over 9 bridges to the waterfall. …

The route is very beautiful but also very demanding. Sure-footedness and good shoes are a must. Do not go if it is raining. The gorge is definitely not suitable for small children.
