Highlight • Natural Monument

Hello, Margarita's photos of the Eternal Wall have nothing to do with this tour

Pötschenwand

Highlight • Natural Monument

The ride on the Pötschenwand is a nice alternative on the way from Bad Aussee to Goisern. The Pötschenwand is a cliff between Lupitsch and St. Agatha, just north of the Pötschenbundesstraße.

Lake Altaussee

Highlight • Lake

Embedded in the picturesque mountain landscape is the crystal-clear Lake Altauseer, on the banks of which the town of the same name is located. Because the water has a slightly dark blue color, the lake is also called the "dark blue inkwell" - it is not only for this reason that it is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the Salzkammergut. In the lake you can refresh yourself and in the local gastronomy there is also a refreshment waiting for you.

Cycle path along the Rettenbach

Highlight • Cycleway

The route was closed from approximately 2021 to 2023 due to high risk of rockfall – reopened in 2024 (information from the Ischl Tourist Information Center). The downhill path requires caution, as there are large, loose stones and rough, solid ground. A fall into the ditch can have serious consequences.

Rettenbachklamm Tunnel and Gorge Path

Highlight (Segment) • Gorge

Danger. This section is not without its dangers. we were there from the direction of Blaa Alm with trekking Ebike and luggage "driven" in the direction of Bad Ischl. It's almost impossible to drive there with luggage!!!!!! very coarse gravel in part and rubbish from the steep slope (September 22). not recommended, especially in bad weather! we mostly had to push. about 45 minutes then we were through. partly steeper passages down. depending on the direction. the "Danger to life" sign irritated us at first. was not blocked, but had not looked closely on this tour on the Salzkammergut cycle path. is more for MTB. but "only" the section through the gorge is difficult. Plan your time and pay attention to the weather
