Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba

Highlight • Religious Site

One of the essential monuments in the world to understand the historical relationship between Christianity and Islam. This temple came to function as a mosque and basilica simultaneously and was adapted to the population of the city. In addition to the styles of Christian construction, it is mainly the greatest exponent of Umayyad architecture in Spain. Tickets to visit its interior can be purchased online in advance and cost €11 as a base, although there are numerous discounts and a supplement if you want to visit at night.

Roman Bridge of Córdoba

Highlight • Bridge

It is always more pleasant to enter or leave the city through the Roman bridge, which is pedestrian, instead of doing it through the others sharing space with cars. Of course, here you coincide in the space with pedestrians, so you will have to dismount and enjoy the impressive landscape on the Guadalquivir on foot.

St. Peter's Square in Córdoba is a historic and charming spot, closely linked to the Minor Basilica of St. Peter.
Located in the San Pedro neighborhood, very close to Plaza de la Corredera, it intersects streets such as Juan de Mesa, San Bartolomé, La Palma, Agustín Moreno, and Don Rodrigo.
Adjacent to it is Plaza de los Aguayos, forming a very picturesque urban complex.

The patio par excellence of the patios of Córdoba. However, although it is the largest, it does not have a great variety of plants, in fact there are only five species of trees. Among them, of course, the orange trees predominate with 96 specimens that in the month of April fill the environment with the aroma of orange blossom.

Corredera Square

Highlight • Historical Site

The current configuration of the Plaza de la Corredera is the result of the works carried out between 1683 and 1687 by the Corregidor Don Francisco Ronquillo Briceño. These were motivated by the threat of collapse of one of the wooden stands, which were then installed in the bullfights that were held in the square, and that caused panic among those present.

San Lorenzo Church

Highlight • Religious Site

This church from the time of Ferdinand III was built in the late 13th century in the early Gothic style and is one of the most beautiful in the city. The elegant early Gothic facade features a magnificent and finely worked rose window and originally a portal with three arches, a rarity in this region. The tower is part of the facade and the lower part is where The bell tower is an old massive tower at the height of the nave, the rest is of more recent date and if you look closely, you will see that both parts are slightly out of plumb. The elegance of the whole is emphasized by the color of the natural stone. The sober, harmonious interior consists of three naves with pointed arches on cross pillars. The naves are decorated with a wooden artesonado ceiling in Mudejar style, while the vault in the choir is purely Gothic. Daylight enters through three high and narrow windows. In the apse are preserved some 14th-century frescoes (scenes of the Passion). A chapel on the left is busy with the faithful who come to pray before a beautiful crucifix, the Cristo del Remedio de las Ánimas (17th century), which belongs to the order of the same name and is one of the oldest in Córdoba.
