The Great Oak of the Anlier Forest

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Old Oak of the Anlier Forest is a majestic tree whose age is estimated at more than 500 years and whose circumference exceeds 6 meters. It is located in a clearing near the village of Anlier, where there is also a small chapel and a picnic area. The Anlier forest is one of the largest and most diverse in Belgium. It is home to many species of birds, mammals and plants. You will appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty of this place.

Forest Stream Crossing

Highlight • River

This route, this region of Belgium is a treat for the nature lovers. You are likely to meet some wild life during your mountain bike or walking tour. Weather wise I recommend to do this route/region between April and early October as before and after you may accompanied by a lot of rain or cold. Remember to bring your water and snacks and a good GPS considering this is a big forest region and getting lost can make the experience less exciting.

La Fabrique Pond

Highlight • Lake

An extraordinary site whose name betrays history. In the 16th century, the Rulles valley was an ideal place for the development of industrial activities: it provided wood as an essential fuel for the manufacture of iron and water for hydraulic energy. Today, this site is a little gem where nature has taken back its rights.

Nobressart Village

Highlight • Settlement

Nobressart is part of the popular club of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia. And not without good reasons.

Nobressart is located in the heart of a protected area by application of a regulation on buildings in rural sites. The village cluster structure is structured around a main street where the traditional Lorraine settlement is present.

All along this street there are secondary streets lined with pretty houses resulting from successful renovations. In the heart of the village several large farms interact with the church. In addition to these Lorraine farms, don't leave Nobressart without discovering the neoclassical style Saint-Jean-Baptiste church dating from 1845, the old presbytery, the old mill, the school and the wash houses.
